Creating Smoke

- Use the Rectangular Marquee tool to create a feathered (20) selection where you want the smoke.
- Set the forground color to middle grey (808080) and the background color to white.
- Go to Filter/Render/Clouds
- Deselect the selection
- Go to Filter/Blur/MotionBlur. Set the angle to 90 and the distance to 160.
- Go to Filter/Distort/Shear and drag the line into a zigzag.
- Go to Filter/Liquify. Use the Warp tool to shape the smoke.
- Set the Smoke layer blending mode to Pin Light.
- Change the Opacity to help get the effect you want.
