AP Art Student Web Gallery Preparation
1. You will need a single folder
containing:
- An
image file of each work of art you want displayed (see #2)
- Resized
to 640 pixels on the longest side
- Renamed
to a number Ð in the order to be displayed (Be sure to put a "0" before single digits)
- An
image file to serve as a thumbnail link to your gallery (see #3)
- 150
pixels square
- Displays
your name
2. To prepare your images:
- Open
each file in PhotoShop
- Select
Image/Adjustments/AutoContrast
- If
the selection improves your image, keep it. If not, undo
- Select
Image/ImageSize
- Be
sure that ÒResample ImageÓ and ÒConstrain ProportionsÓ are checked.
- Under
Pixel Dimensions change the longest side to 640
- Click
OK
- If your image is not right side up - choose Image/RotateCanvas and turn it.
- Save
your image as a jpg at quality "8"
- To keep your high resolution copy, rename
your file when you save it.
3**. To create a thumbnail image to be used as
the link to your gallery:
- Create
an original new square work
- In
PhotoShop, resize it to 150 pixels on a side . . . or . . .
- Choose
a square section of one of your existing works
- Add
your name to it
- Resize
it to 150 pixels on a side
- Save
as a JPG
- At
JPG quality Ò8Ó
- Name
it ÒThumbnail.jpgÓ
4. Put all of your files in a Folder (With your name) in the "Shared Room 620" Server in Folder "00-AP-WebGalleries".
